I found this video of a kid driving his Saturn at a somewhat quick rate of speed! Oh wait... that kid is me! Its finally done! You've heard the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . You've seen the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Now its finally done! The new trans is in. I put a new clutch and slave cylinder in, since I broke the old one upon removal. I spent several hours in autoshop trying to figure out how to bleed the closed hydraulic system on the clutch. Finally, here is the end result, a little blast through my private racetrack. Its state forest and the only thing at the end of this road is a pond, so there's barely ever traffic. Enjoy!

The songs in the video itself are from a group called Cyne. Pretty obscure but I think they're good!

Ah yes. I do a little bit of filming at some events so I decided to make a intro that I could use for a while and that was my song of choice!

Sounds like an aftermarket exhaust. Did you weld up your diff pin before throwing the new trans in? If not, continuing to beat on it could mean another incident.

Which pin are you referring to? Cause I didn't weld anything.... and nope. Stock everything. Deleted intake resonator though.

It's The piece that hold the center gear in place. It was rammed in place at the factory, but hard driving can cause it to slip out and shatter the case, which is what looks like happened toy our last one.

broseidon-tip: sudden shock to the system is what does it. AKA one wheel losing then regaining traction, or prolonged hard driving. Don't do burnouts.

So wheel spin = bad? Would more solid shifts like in my video eventually cause that too?

Not sure, but they could wear out other crap. The shifter cables like to stretch (all cable shifters do this :( get used to it), and the ball and socket in the shifter wears a bit too.

I don't really to shift too fast because it always did feel like I was hurting the car by doing so, but when I'm accelerating, I tend to let out the clutch pretty fast and not really slip it because to me the slipping sounds really noobish. I can take my time with the gear changes, but I dunno if the footwork will hurt it

well, in any car, dropping the clutch at warp speed (even between gears at speed) induces driveline shock, which isn't too good. But letting it out comically slow lets it slip and could wear it out faster.

Ehhh whatever. Its not like I plan to keep it long anyway. It was a hand me down. But considering it has 227k miles. Its held its own.

The dif pin will live forever as long as you don't get a bunch of rubber on pavement. I never welded the pin in my turbocharged and methanol injected Saturn and it lived to the ripe old age of 200,000 miles... when it got traded in...

Treat it like it can't do burnouts, but otherwise beat the tar out of it. It wants you to.
